Key Aspects of Our Philosophy

We offer families a safe and nurturing learning environment where children are valued as special and unique. Our diverse team of professional educators work hard to provide challenges that develop the talents, spirit and skills of all children.

We believe that children learn best through play in a mixed age setting and we support their need to explore and experiment at their own pace. Children will have the opportunity to practice skills, repeat experiences and to succeed on a daily basis. Educators work alongside children and through observations and planning, extend interests, ideas and abilities. We are committed to using Te Whariki, the National Curriculum

We strive for real partnership with families and most importantly, ensure that the emphasis is always on fun!

At Early Impressions Learning Centre children will have the opportunity to:-

Build self esteem, physical confidence and independence
Work alongside other children and adults
Learn about limits and boundaries
Take responsibility for themselves, others and the environment
Make their own choices and feel good about what they achieve
Explore new and diverse learning experiences
Develop problem solving skills and different ways to be creative and expressive.
Hear and use Te Reo Maori
Develop early maths and literacy skills
Value the differences and gifts others bring to the centre
Practice verbal and non verbal communication skills
Develop positive attitudes towards learning
Interact with the natural environment and learn about the living creatures and plants
